Sometimes, you just don’t have the time to get all arty farty with your bullet journal… but that doesn’t mean you still can’t make it adorable!
I’ve been dying to try Close to My Heart’s new thin cuts… and I decided to use my bullet journal to try them out!
They work with your big shot or cuttlebug die cut machine. If you don’t know what that is, you’ll see it in the process video. It cuts out the shapes for you by essentially squeezing. lol. And with the thin cuts sets, you have a coordinating set of stamps so you can make a perfect cut out to stamp. This one is called Rain or shine Paper Doll (my daughter picked out…. not surprised… it’s an adorable set!)
So when it got to be the day before Easter and I still hadn’t prepped for April in my journal, I knew I had to keep it simple.
I saw this set with the raincoat and umbrella, and I thought… how perfect for April! Though we did start out the month with a little snow here in New Jersey…
Though I love to doodle, using this stamp set made it super easy to get a quick set up ready for this month. And I think it turned out super cute!
I also used some watercolors with the Close to my heart water brush. Another tool that I love! You can skip the jar of water because it’s already in the brush; you just squeeze and go!
So here’s my simple weekly set up. It’s pretty much the same as last months because that seemed to work well. I use the bottom sections for night activities and bills that are due. So instead of using a separate budget page, (which I tried in January and ended up abandoning), I just kinda keep track of spending on the bottom of each day.
So I would definitely call this a minimalist bullet journal spread. I’ve found I don’t really use the monthly trackers. I have yearly ones set up in the beginning of the notebook, and those seem to be working out better for me for now.
I did a quick process video so you can see how it all came together.
All the products I used are listed in the description box below the video.
Thanks for stopping by!
