Friday Scrapbooking – 3D glasses

Yay! It’s friday!

This week’s layout is a bit mixed media….

The photos:

So Eleanor has this fish bowl of glasses in her room. Sunglasses, funny glasses, light up glasses, and 3D glasses she collected from whenever we saw a 3D movie. One day she decided to pop out the lenses in one of the black 3D’s and just wear them to compliment her outfit. Since that day, she’s been wearing them a lot. Besides people offering to clean her lenses, I think they look pretty cute.  lol.  Though I warn her that she will probably end up needing glasses anyway based on the family’s eyesight. But… who doesn’t need glasses these days?

So I started snapping pics and she started posing… and within a day, it was in the scrapbook.  lol.

I used two sheets of paper from a paper packet from CTMH.  One of them had lines and I was going to journal on it, but I decided to pop circles out and make a background. I used washi to fill in the circles from behind and then sewed down the paper to the polka dot background.

Then I used texture paste and a stencil to add the arrows on top. The rest of the embellishments are made of the circles I punched, some lace, watercolor, and some thread.

Oh, and also, before cutting out the photos, I used some blue watercolor on them. I kinda wanted that blue to be a theme in the page.

I didn’t use a “kit” per say…   I pulled some paper from my CTMH stash, and the rest is watercolors, texture paste, and some sewing.

For the full play by play, you can watch the process.

Have a great weekend!

Ladies with Lenses – a twelve by twelver

WEEEEEEE! What we did with the Studio Calico June kit (so far…)
The following pic is actually the back of the 12 x 12 layout. Sometimes the back looks cool enough to use as a background for another layout.. haven’t decided yet. But this is all my sewing nonsense…  no thyme or reason… or sage. But def. cinnamon!

So anyway, this post is really about spending time with your kid(s). A lot of people tell you to enjoy them while they’re young and don’t hate you yet… so I decided to listen damn it!
It’s all true and that’s why I’m just trying to enjoy every second with her. I have a couple jobs, like most moms these days so most of my day is spent away from my daughter, but when I come home… I feel like spending time with her is more important than rushing her off to bed. Schedule Smedule!
So we have fun no matter the day or time! And since my daughter is a veteran at making videos of herself… I decided it would be fun to do a youtube series with her.
We call it Ladies with Lenses. When I got all those stickers from Paperchase, I also found a pencil topper that was a pair of glasses. They were so cute, and as soon as Roo saw them, she immediately took em’ over. So when she grabbed them during our first “share” video, the title of the series was born.

And we invited Norma in to take part in the lenses wearing!

She looks nerdtastic in them I think!
So in true Project Life fashion, I decided this was an opportunity to make a layout as well to document the start of our video fun… however long it lasts…

Glasses…

Well, it seems my daughter has the same fetish for glasses as I do…  only difference, she can see without them…    But she’s not quite 3 so I’m sure that will change. Based on genetics, she has a slim chance of anywhere close I CAN SEE WITHOUT HELP!!!

Anyway, so she’s been so attached to these little glasses that were an accessory to a build a bear chickie that I got her for Easter.

And since Easter, I’ve noticed I have a good pile of pics of her wearing these Harry Potter type glasses… and she just looks so darn cute!

So i decided to do some scrap with them…

Because some new youtube scrappy friend Melovebono had posted a challenge, and I decided to participate… I REALLY WANT a $30 to Jo-ANNS… or any other craft store of my choice!

Here’s my vid response: MEloveBONOchallenge

And then, I decided some of the other pics with the glasses would work for my card from my daughter to Dad:

And the card:

And if you want to see how smart they make her, friend me on Facebook and you can watch her in action…  lol…  Find me: Fitty Updike, or my page: Madebyfitty

HAPPY DADDY DAY DADS!!!
